Earlier this month, Mazda North American Operations released that its Mazda Driver for Good program raised $5.4 million during the 2016 event. As it wraps up the fourth year of the program, MNAO announced that it will donate $5.4 million to various charities across the United States in 2017. Here at Lester Glenn Mazda, our team is proud to be associated with such a philanthropic and caring brand.

The 2016 Mazda Drive for Good event took place from November 21, 2016, through January 3, 2017, and over the course of those six weeks earned more than $5.4 million! For every new Mazda vehicle that was purchased or leased during that time, MNAO donated $150 to one of four national or 42 local charities, which ultimately allowing the customers to choose where the money was donated. In addition to the monetary donation, Mazda employees, dealers, and partners across the nation have pledged more than 67,000 hours of charitable service in 2017, which was a result of vehicle test drives.

Masahiro Moro, president and CEO of Mazda North American Operations, had this to say about the Mazda Drive for Good Event:

Being an active member in the community is an important aspect of who we are as a company and what the Mazda Drive for Good program stands for. Because of this, we are proud to not only support our national and local charity partners through donations, but to also provide extra hands to the local organizations that make a difference in their community each and every day.
