At Lester Glenn Mazda, one of the most exciting parts of our work is seeing the impact that a new Mazda car has on Freehold drivers. As thrilling and fulfilling as this aspect of our work is, we know that larger impacts are just waiting to be made, and we are happy to have a partner in our quest to bring them to life.
Mazda North American Operations has joined forces with NBCUniversal to launch the 2015 Mazda Drive for Good® program, which seeks to assist a deserving nonprofit organization with an in-kind contribution in the form of goods and services equivalent to $30,000 in other marketing materials.
This year’s partnership will live across NBCUniversal broadcast, cable and digital properties and include calls for nominations by Academy Award® nominee and active philanthropist Minnie Driver. The actress will also inform the award winner in a surprise live appearance. A representative from the winning organization will then attend the annual Rockefeller Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center Dec. 2 where they and their organization will be recognized for their impact on the community.
The community charity contest opened Oct. 14 and wraps up Oct. 28. That’s in just about one week, so don’t delay! If you are familiar with an individual or organization that is taking steps to improve their community, simply nominate that person or organization to earn them the opportunity to receive boosted awareness and a significant donation to help them continue their great work. Enter submissions online and check in with our Mazda dealership as we report this year’s winning charity.
In its third year of fundraising, the Mazda brand will make a charitable donation of $150 for each new Mazda vehicle sold or leased from Nov. 23 to Jan. 4. In the last two years of program activity, the automaker has donated more than $7.9 million to charity.
Equally as exciting to our Toms River Mazda dealership is the brand’s commitment to matching every test drive taken during the same period with one hour of charitable service to be offered in 2016. This commitment led to the donation of more than 120,000 volunteer hours through corporate, dealer and partner employees in the last two years.
